This 24” x 30” panel was an experiment to see if I could incorporate
slumped glass into my stained glass panel. The face, shoulder and
some of the fish are slumped glass. A special one-time mold was created
and the glass slumped into it. In order for the transition from the
slumped glass to the rest of the panel to be smooth adjoining glass was
overlaid and placed at angles to make the piece transition well.
The glass used for the woman’s hair was Kokomo glass in two different textures
so that there was a distinction between the hair on her head and in the
water.
The blue glass of the water is Uroboros Glass and was hand picked from
their factory. The light blue ripple lines is Fisher Antique glass
I had on hand. Often I go to Uroboros Glass Studio and hand pick
glass for special windows such as these, It allows me to find just the
right piece of glass to convey the effect I am looking for.
