At Eola Glassworks we love to work with builders and architects to create that customized look to enhance homes, offices, and churches. We can work with you to design just the right panel to enhance your architectural design. We can create panels to reflect various styles and periods. We have created doors, sidelights, transoms and various interior panels to act as dividing walls between rooms. Our goal is to enhance your design. Show us your designs and talk to us about what kind of mood or feeling you wish to Create and we can design the perfect panel(s) to fit into any location. We can do historic reconstruction of panels. If a historic building has windows that are not repairable, we can build new ones to look like the old ones that were in it. An example of this is the Stiffe house in Salem, Oregon. It was once used as a governor’s mansion. When the state decided to remodel and repair the building, we were asked to rebuild 19 of the upstairs windows that the zinc cameing was too far corroded to repair. As a planning note, we prefer to construct our panels based on measurements we receive from the builder. While we can suggest and are willing to supervise the installation process, we do not install. (The State of Oregon requires a contractor license to install and/or remove windows. Since this is not our area of expertise we leave that process to those how are more qualified.). We are more than happy to be on site during installation to offer technical help about handling the stained glass. We do have technical information and study information about double-glazing and protective glazing. Windows that will exceed 14 linear feet around the perimeter needs special re-enforcement considerations. Please consult with us before finishing off the window opening.
